Bandai Namco has announced that Captain Tsubasa 2: World Fighters will launch on August 28, 2026, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam. Pre-orders are available now.
The announcement also included a new story trailer that shows Tsubasa Ozora’s path from the qualifying round to the World Youth Championship.
Tsubasa Heads for the World Stage
In Captain Tsubasa 2: World Fighters, players follow Tsubasa and his team through qualifying matches against Thailand, Uzbekistan, Saudi Arabia, and China before moving on to the World Youth Championship.
The tournament will bring Japan against teams from Brazil, Argentina, Mexico, Uruguay, Cameroon, Sweden, and the Netherlands, with each match built around the series’ dramatic soccer style.
Super Action Soccer Returns
The sequel expands the game’s Super Action Soccer gameplay, letting players chain together special techniques while passing, dribbling, tackling, blocking, and shooting.
Goalkeeper play is also getting a new system that turns shot-stopping into a more tactical clash between shooter and keeper, including the series’ signature super shots and blocks.
Pre-Orders Available Now
Digital pre-orders are live now on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Steam. Physical pre-orders are available for all console versions.
