The Next Zelda: New Developments

I was going to post a new episode of “Gotta Catch the Story!” today, but a new batch of Zelda news from earthbounding took priority:

The Next Zelda: New Developments

What we learn from this video:

–The creator of Kirby and Super Smash Bros. is back with Nintendo again. Sora Ltd, was bought out by Nintendo and is being renamed to Project Sora.
–During this restructuring, two announcements were made; and the second announcement was said to be “something never experienced before”.
–This mysterious project is NOT a new Super Smash Bros….but could it be New Zelda?
–If New Zelda were released this year, according to one analyst (the same analyst that claimed new Zelda would come this year), game sales would jump 5%
–There were rumors New Zelda could come to the DS, not the Wii. However, Iwata’s statement at E3 last year debunked that theory by explicitly saying New Zelda would come to the Wii.
–There could still be a chance a New Zelda DS is also in development
–Following PocketGamer’s article about a possible New Zelda DS, speculation of how Zelda would work with the DSi started appearing, complete with speculation of a Zelda calculator
–Last September, Reggie and Miyamoto were interviewed by Club Nintendo, a Latin American game magazine; Miyamoto reiterates that New Zelda is in development, this is why Eiji Aonuma was not at E3 last year.
–The interview again hints that two Zelda games are in development.
–Could it be possible a Zelda DDR-like game is in development? A sketch of a dancing Link seems to support the rumor. The sketch was supposedly given to IGN by Aonuma-san. It’s possible that the sketch hints at a new mini game, akin to Twilight Princess’ sumo wrestling

Stay tuned for more news as I find it.

Happy gaming,
