N3 Special Report: E3 2009

Here’s what went down at the Nintendo conference:

–Cammie was on first, she reiterated that games are bigger than movies and music combined, and more people are picking up games than ever before.
–New game: New Super Mario Bros. Wii, coming this holiday
–New game: Wii Fit Plus, coming this fall
— More on Wii Sports Resort and the Wii Motion Plus
–Wii Sports Resort is now known to have archery, basketball, canoeing, Ping Pong, skydiving, and golf in addition to what we’ve seen before, demo of archery and basketball (Reggie won the basketball match).
–On the RPG front, Final Fantasy: The Crystal Bearers, Kingdom Hearts: 358/2 Days, and Mario and Luigi 3 are all coming soon
–Mario and Luigi 3 is now called Mario and Luigi: Bowser’s Inside Story
–Golden Sun returns to the DS next year
–On the DS front, Women’s Murder Club releases Oct. 13, Cop: The Recruit and Style Savvy also on the way.
–In the DSi department, the DSi has hit a million, and 400,000 DS Lites were also sold.
–Flip Notes Studio, Mario vs. Donkey Kong: The Minis March Again, and Wario Ware DIY all coming to DSiWare
–DSI will have connectivity to Facebook
–The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks is playable at E3
–Iwata was on next–295 million gamers are worldwide, and 149 milion might want to join–these “maybe” players are key to success
–Don’t make it too hard for new players, but not too easy for veteran players
–New accessory: The Wii Vitality Sensor (the WTF moment of the conference)
–New game: Super Mario Galaxy 2
–The Conduit, Resident Evil, Dead Space: Extraction all coming this summer
–New game: Metroid: Other M coming next year.
