Resident Evil Revelations and Mercenaries 3D Announced for 3DS

Capcom has announced not one, but two Nintendo 3DS games in the works revealed today at the Nintendo Conference 2010 in Japan.

First, Resident Evil: Mercenaries 3D takes Mercenaries missions from Resident Evil 4 and Resident Evil 5 and condenses it onto your handheld. The featured time trial mode will involve players traversing through small arenas trying to finish having eliminated as many zombies as possible. Capcom promises new modes and returning characters from the Resident Evil franchise “to enrich and extend the Mercenaries experience.”

In addition, a story centric Resident Evil adventure is in development for Nintendo 3DS subtitled, Revelations. Capcom has yet to announce a release date for either title. Nintendo 3DS is slated for release February 26 in Japan and a March 2011 window for North America and Europe. Screenshots are found below.
