Battlefield 3 Runs 30 FPS, 720p on Consoles

Battlefield 3 certainly looks nice on the PC, considering its the lead platform for DICE’s latest. But how will it fare on the consoles? DICE rendering architect Johan Andersson, in an interview with Develop, told the public that the game will run at 720p on consoles, at 30 frames-per-second.

Andersson stated the trade off is worth it. “We thing huge levels, lots of players, great effects, destruction, vehicles, and varied gameplay is more important than 1080p.” Battlefield 3 releases October 25, 2011 for PC, Xbox 360, and Playstation 3.
