These days, FromSoftware has become famous for the Souls games, but 2004 saw the release of their third-person shooter for the original Xbox, Metal Wolf Chaos. Set in America, it followed the president of the United States as he used a mech suit to take back America after it was lost in a coup by the vice president.
It was never released outside of Japan.
Fondly described as fans as being “too American for America,” it became a cult classic over the years. Now, it will be released in the west for the first time. Devolver Digital is bringing a remastered port called Metal Wolf Chaos XD to the PC, PS4, and Xbox One later this year.
Devolver Digital is marketing Metal Wolf Chaos XD with the fitting tagline “Mech America Great Again.”
