Theos: Cities of Myth is available now on PC for $19.99, with a 20% launch discount running through November 11. Developed by Triskell Interactive and published by Dotemu, the city-building and management game asks you to create an ancient Greek settlement while managing the demands of its gods.
Triskell previously developed Pharaoh: A New Era. Its latest project draws on city builders from the 2000s, pairing familiar planning and management systems with divine blessings, punishments, and notable historical residents.
Build a Polis Worthy of the Greek Pantheon
Creating a functioning city is only part of your responsibility in Theos: Cities of Myth. Seven Greek deities, including Zeus and Athena, have desires you’ll need to fulfill as your settlement grows.
Honoring those requests can earn blessings and other benefits. Ignore the gods, however, and you risk their wrath. Their demands add another consideration to your planning, alongside building and managing a thriving society.
Your settlement can also attract notable figures, including Aristotle. These residents bring benefits to the city, giving you another reason to consider how you develop it.
Adventure and Sandbox Modes Offer Different Ways to Build
Theos: Cities of Myth includes adventures and a customizable sandbox mode. Dotemu describes the overall offering as providing dozens of hours of city building, with room to shape settlements through different approaches.
The building tools draw on Triskell’s work with Pharaoh: A New Era. The developer has also focused on an approachable interface and refinements intended to help both experienced city-builder players and newcomers plan their settlements.
The presentation covers everything from monumental temples and towering deities to greenery and smaller streets. That gives your city’s religious landmarks a place alongside the everyday spaces you organize and maintain.
