Cronos: The New Dawn Launches September 5 for Switch 2, PS5, Xbox, and PC

Bloober Team has officially revealed the release date for its long-awaited horror project, Cronos: The New Dawn. The studio confirmed during today’s Nintendo Direct that the game will launch worldwide on September 5, 2025, with pre-orders live now across Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC (Steam and Epic Games Store).

The new story trailer, released alongside the announcement, sets a chilling tone for what’s to come, offering glimpses of cryptic lore and introducing a central mechanic called Soul Harvesting. “The human race—an anomaly, yet the perfect one…” serves as the trailer’s haunting thesis, teasing a narrative that mixes cosmic horror with psychological dread.

What Is Cronos: The New Dawn?

Set in a fractured world torn between time and truth, Cronos: The New Dawn blends psychological horror with survival mechanics and a deeply atmospheric narrative. The new Soul Harvesting system appears to play a major role in both gameplay and storytelling, though exact details remain under wraps.

The game marks a new creative high for Bloober Team, best known for Layers of Fear, The Medium, and their upcoming Silent Hill 2 remake. With Cronos, the studio seems to be fully embracing their penchant for reality-warping dread and emotional storytelling.
