The wait is almost over. Icelandic studio Myrkur Games and publisher Deep Silver have announced that Echoes of the End, their ambitious debut cinematic action-adventure title, will launch on August 12, 2025, for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.
To mark the release date reveal, the studio has dropped an extended 17-minute gameplay walkthrough, showcasing an early chapter in protagonist Ryn’s journey and offering the deepest look yet into the game’s dramatic world, magic-fueled combat, and character-driven storytelling.
Magic, Betrayal, and a World on the Brink
Set in a rich, war-torn fantasy land, Echoes of the End casts players as Ryn, a powerful “vestige” capable of wielding ancient and volatile magic. While patrolling the border with her brother Cor, Ryn is ambushed by soldiers from the rival kingdom of Reigendal—and another vestige, Zara, whose powers mirror her own.
The battle ends in a stalemate interrupted by the arrival of the mysterious scholar Abram Finlay, who whisks Ryn away to safety. Now cut off from her brother and her homeland, Ryn must embark on a perilous journey with Abram to discover the truth behind Reigendal’s assault—and the echoes of a forgotten magic long buried.
The newly revealed footage highlights fluid third-person combat, elemental magic powers, cinematic cutscenes, and environmental traversal—all hinting at a game with deep narrative choices, emotional stakes, and handcrafted worldbuilding across ten distinct chapters.
