During The Game Awards 2025, Krafton and Neon Giant officially unveiled No Law, a first-person open-world shooter RPG set in the neon-drenched cyber-noir city of Port Desire. As the follow-up to Neon Giant’s acclaimed debut, The Ascent, this new project marks a major evolution for the studio, expanding its scope, ambition, and narrative focus. No Law is currently in development for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.
The world premiere trailer, captured entirely in-engine using Unreal Engine 5, sets the tone: slick neon grime, simmering tension, and a protagonist pushed back into the fire he tried to leave behind.
A Soldier Turned Gardener Dragged Back Into the Shadows
Players step into the worn boots of Grey Harker, an ex–black ops veteran who abandoned war for a quiet, contemplative life tending his plants, until that life is shattered. Drawn back into violence, Harker must rely on his military instincts and a suite of customizable hardware to reclaim what was taken from him and confront a city built on corruption.
This is a revenge story woven through a world that’s as reactive as it is deadly.
Port Desire: A City Built on Excess, Not Order
Set along a cliffside port battered by a restless sea, Port Desire is a massive vertical city dripping with cyber-noir flair. Neon-lit bazaars, rooftop gardens, industrial docks, and back-alley dens of crime form a layered world full of characters whose motives are as fogged as the skyline.
Neon Giant describes Port Desire as a place “built on neon sleaze instead of regulation,” a living ecosystem shaped by players’ choices. Every decision affects alliances, enemy reactions, and even how missions unfold.
Player Agency at the Core
No Law aims to redefine Neon Giant’s approach to storytelling and reactivity. Missions and encounters adapt to the player’s behavior:
- Go stealthy or cause chaos
- Show mercy or silence enemies permanently
- Shape alliances or burn every bridge
Every action changes the flow of the story, offering multiple outcomes and playstyles. With vertical movement, military-grade cybernetics, sci-fi tools, and dynamic combat options, No Law blends immersive FPS design with RPG depth and player-driven narrative.
Neon Giant Levels Up
“For us, No Law represents the next step,” said Claës af Burén, Managing Director at Neon Giant. “We’re building something bigger, more reactive, and more personal than anything we’ve done before.”
Under Krafton’s expanding portfolio, the studio is pushing further into large-scale worldbuilding and cinematic narrative design, reflecting the publisher’s commitment to high-impact, high-quality experiences.
