Serenity Forge has announced that Puppergeist will launch on July 16, 2026, for Nintendo Switch, Xbox, Steam, and the Epic Games Store.
Revealed during the Women-Led Games showcase, the rhythm visual novel follows a young witch named Claire as she enters the Doggie Underworld to find her lost Pup. The announcement came alongside a new trailer showing the game’s rhythm-based storytelling, spirit dogs, and emotional underworld setting.
A Rhythm Visual Novel About Love and Loss
Puppergeist centers on Claire’s search for her missing dog in the Doggie Underworld.
During her journey, Claire meets Lunne, a demon who becomes her new friend, and a cast of dog spirits who carry stories of friendship, love, and loss. Each connection helps move the story forward through rhythm mini-games and remixes.
The game blends visual novel storytelling with music-driven interactions, using rhythm to explore the bond between people and their pets.
Guest Creators Join the Soundtrack
Serenity Forge also revealed several collaborators helping shape Puppergeist’s tone and music.
The game features art direction by NomnomNami, creator of Bad End Theater. Its soundtrack includes work from Kris Wilson, co-creator of Cyanide & Happiness, alongside music by Kan Gao, creator of To the Moon, and Kawai Sprite, creator of Friday Night Funkin’.
Together, the team is aiming for a mix of playful, heartfelt, and eerie moods as Claire moves through the Doggie Underworld.
Serenity Forge’s Next In-House Game
Puppergeist is being developed in-house by Serenity Forge, whose previous publishing and development work includes Fractured Blooms, Bad End Theater, and To the Moon.
The studio describes the game as a story about pets’ unconditional love, framed through a supernatural rhythm adventure.
Puppergeist launches July 16, 2026, for Nintendo Switch, Xbox, Steam, and the Epic Games Store.
