Nexon America has launched Global MapleStory’s Ride the Lightning Part 2 update, bringing a new boss, a new zone, stronger weapons, the Kinesis Redux, and several summer events.
The update is live now, with high-level players able to face Jupiter, enter Geardock, pursue Astra Secondary Weapons, and continue event story content tied to the larger Ride the Lightning update.
Jupiter Arrives in Geardock
The new boss, Jupiter, is an Ancient God gathering other gods for a hidden purpose. Players level 295 and above who have completed the required quests can challenge him through Geardock: Forge Entrance.
Defeating Jupiter can reward items such as the Original Sin of Pride Face Accessory, Eternal Twisted Armor Box, and other drops. Different difficulties also offer extra rewards for players ready to push harder.
Geardock also joins the game as a new area for level 295 players and above. The story begins after the Primacy loses contact with Gob, leading the Adversary toward a strange robot found in a remote desert. Players can also earn the Grand Sacred Symbol: Geardock, which grants Sacred Power along with bonus EXP, mesos, and item drops.
Astra and Destiny Weapons Grow Stronger
Ride the Lightning Part 2 adds Astra Secondary Weapons, new level 200 secondary weapons made for heroes who have unlocked their Genesis Weapon.
Players can get and upgrade Astra weapons through dedicated Secondary Weapon Quests. As they improve, these weapons gain stronger stats and higher Star Force potential.
The update also adds Destiny Weapon 2nd Transcendence, tied to new missions against powerful Grandis bosses.
Kinesis Gets Reworked
The Kinesis Redux overhauls the telekinetic class with updated story quests, new skills, and a major system shift: Kinesis skills now use MP.
Kinesis still uses a Psy-limiter as a main weapon and a chess piece as a secondary weapon, but the move to MP aims to make the class smoother to play. New beginner active skills like Psychic Attack join passive abilities that boost physical power and psychic control.
The Kinetic Event is also live, letting players use Hyper Burning on a revamped Kinesis to level faster and earn themed rewards, including a Petite Luna Pet and Kinetic Chair.
New Events and Rewards
The Mystic Frontier Champions Event lets level 200+ players build Familiar teams and compete in weekly contests on Saturdays and Sundays. Players can also send Familiars after treasure chests to earn new Familiars and items.
Ride or Die has returned with a full revamp. Each week brings a fixed-difficulty boss empowered by Kazax, with five lives per run, unlimited attempts, and class-based rankings. Players can use Mapae and Amulets for support, while Kazax adds random interference during fights.
The update also continues Operation: Dive, with new story episodes, Daily and Weekly Collection Tasks, Special Kroma Coins, Record Shop rewards, and account-wide progress.
