Theos: Cities of Myth Gameplay Trailer Shows Greek City Building

Dotemu and Triskell Interactive have released a new Theos: Cities of Myth gameplay overview trailer, giving players a closer look at the upcoming Ancient Greece city-builder.

The game comes from the team behind Pharaoh: A New Era and is set to launch later this year on PC.

Build Around the Sanctuary

Every city in Theos: Cities of Myth begins with the Sanctuary, which acts as the seat of power for the player’s chosen god.

From there, players will manage supply chains, distribution routes, housing, food, culture, entertainment, and residents’ needs as the settlement grows.

Keep the Gods Happy

Players will build their city in tribute to one of seven Olympian gods.

Appeasing gods like Ares or Athena can bring blessings, boons, and legendary figures such as Socrates or Aristotle to the city. Ignoring divine demands can also bring punishment, adding another layer of pressure to city planning.

More Control Over City Life

Theos: Cities of Myth aims to smooth out some classic city-builder frustrations.

Triskell is giving players more control over walking units that patrol and support the city, while bringing back building tools shaped by the studio’s work on Pharaoh: A New Era.

Armies, Trade, and Sandbox Play

The game also adds military and trade systems to city management.

Players can raise armies to defend against rivals or conquer nearby foes in real-time battles. Cities can also grow into trading centers filled with resources, temples, and hero-driven bonuses.

Theos: Cities of Myth launches later this year on PC.
