Netease Games and Everstone Studio have announced that Where Winds Meet has reached 100 million players, with the final Hidden Mountain chapter launching September 16.
Hidden Mountain Chapter 3 will close the storyline with new bosses, story payoffs, and added activities.
Hidden Mountain Reaches Its Finale
The September 16 update brings the Hidden Mountain storyline to its conclusion.
As outsiders arrive and buried secrets rise, rival factions face their final choices. Players will head into the center of the conflict and shape how the saga ends.
Qianye Finally Steps Forward
Hidden Mountain Chapter 3 also brings players face-to-face with Qianye.
Qianye is the mastermind behind the Blissful Retreat tragedy, the destruction of the player’s home, and the loss that set the story in motion. The update will mark the first direct confrontation with that arch-nemesis since the fire.
The chapter will also add two special bosses, two field bosses, and new activities.
Bamboo Cut – Draught Arrives First
Before the finale, Where Winds Meet will add a new martial arts set on September 3.
Bamboo Cut – Draught takes inspiration from Jackie Chan’s Drunken Master, with heavy impact, loose movement, and unpredictable strikes built around drunken master techniques.
Everstone Studio has also brought on Yuen Woo-ping as Global Action Consultant. His credits include Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, The Matrix, and The Grandmaster.
New Modes and Events
A new Extraction Mode is also coming to Where Winds Meet.
The mode lets players fight directly, hide, use disguises, or steal treasure without drawing a weapon. The Ghost Month event is live now as well, bringing Chinese folk culture, taboo legends, and supernatural horror to Jianghu.
