Spine is adding a feathered option to its cinematic gunfights. Developer and publisher Nekki has released a new gameplay trailer showcasing protagonist Redline’s costumes ahead of the action game’s summer 2027 launch on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.
Shown during the Twitch Galaxies showcase, the trailer reveals four outfits, ranging from a masked combat look to a full parrot suit.
Four Outfits Give Redline Different Looks
The featured costumes include:
- Demon in the Shell: A red-and-white masked outfit.
- Ultraviolent: A red leather outfit.
- Dressed to Kill: A red dress.
- Hard Beaked: A parrot suit, shown as Redline leaps between buildings.
Nekki says these skins represent a small selection of the costumes planned for the full game.
Gun Fu Combat in an AI-Controlled City
Spine follows Redline, a rebellious street artist searching for her captured brother in Tensor City. The city’s AI regime uses a Social Rating to determine residents’ access to food, work, and other necessities.
Redline fights alongside Spine, a sentient combat implant with its own personality. Combat combines close-range gunplay with free-flow martial arts, supported by camera work and choreography developed with action-film stunt specialists.
The game uses Unreal Engine 5 and Nekki’s Cascadeur animation technology.
