Hela: of Mice & Magic will support cross-play at launch, letting up to four players complete its entire story together across Nintendo Switch 2, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and PC. Publisher Knights Peak and developer Windup Games confirmed the feature alongside a new video focused on the adventure’s story.
The game launches December 1, 2026, with day-one Xbox Game Pass availability. Digital editions will arrive across all platforms, while a limited physical Harmony Edition is planned for Switch 2, Xbox Series X, and PS5.
Help an Ailing Witch Restore Harmony
You play as one of a witch’s mouse familiars after illness prevents her from caring for the land herself. She has watched over its inhabitants for centuries, but something has fallen out of balance, and restoring it requires a different approach.
Letters arriving at her cottage guide the mice toward people who need help. Along the way, you’ll meet residents, befriend forest creatures, and encounter figures such as the Ritual Keeper, whose role connects to the land’s past and ancient magic.
Returning to the cottage gives you opportunities to hear the witch’s own stories. The narrative connects those conversations with the people you help and the places you choose to explore.
Every Puzzle and Story Section Supports Co-op
Windup Games says the full adventure supports multiplayer from beginning to end. You can experience environments, puzzles, and story content together, with no sections reserved for solo play.
You can team up through local split-screen or play online across the supported platforms. Cross-play means your group won’t need to own the same system to share the campaign.
Solo players can use the Shade System, which summons magical copies of their mouse to help overcome obstacles and challenges.
Harmony Edition Offers a Physical Release
The limited Harmony Edition will be available through selected retailers for Switch 2, Xbox Series X, and PS5. Microids has US and European retail listings available.
Xbox Series S and PC versions will be digital only. All versions of Hela: of Mice & Magic arrive on December 1, with Game Pass access beginning the same day.
