Kodansha Game Lab has announced that its critically acclaimed interactive novel and Roger is now available on Nintendo Switch 2, iOS, and Android. To celebrate the launch on new platforms, the publisher has also kicked off a limited-time sale across all versions of the game.
Originally released in 2025, and Roger has quietly built a devoted audience, surpassing 100,000 players worldwide while earning recognition from organizations including the BAFTA Game Awards, the Game Developers Conference, and the Tokyo Game Show.
A Short Story With a Lasting Impact
and Roger follows a young woman who wakes up one morning to discover that her life has changed in ways she cannot fully understand. As she searches for answers, players uncover a series of mysteries that blur the line between reality and illusion.
The experience is told across three chapters and can be completed in roughly one hour. Despite its short runtime, the game has gained praise for its emotional storytelling, memorable animation, and lasting themes.
Players interact with the story through simple point-and-click mechanics, keeping the narrative and atmosphere at the forefront of the experience.
New Platform Features
The newly released mobile versions allow players to experience the story on phones and tablets, while the Nintendo Switch 2 version supports both traditional controller inputs and mouse controls.
Alongside the platform launch, Kodansha Game Lab has released a major update for all versions of the game. The update adds 20 additional subtitle languages, bringing the total to 29 and making the story more accessible to players worldwide.
Launch Discounts Available Now
To mark the release, and Roger is currently discounted across every platform:
- iOS and Android versions are available at 20% off
- Steam, Nintendo Switch, and Nintendo Switch 2 versions are available at 30% off
The promotion gives new players an opportunity to experience one of the more acclaimed narrative-focused indie releases of the past year at a reduced price.
A Hidden Gem Finds a Larger Audience
While and Roger may not have received the same attention as many larger visual novels, its growing list of awards and positive reception has helped establish it as one of the standout interactive storytelling experiences released in recent years.
