Bandai Namco has released a new video for Captain Tsubasa 2: World Fighters, highlighting the game’s modes, features, customization options, and anime-style soccer action ahead of its August 28 launch.
Based on the long-running manga and anime series, the sequel brings back the over-the-top Action Soccer gameplay as Tsubasa Ozora leads Japan into the World Youth Championship.
Story Mode and New Stars
The new game modes video spotlights Story Mode, where players will follow Japan’s fight to advance at the World Youth Championship. The story will also feature new stars, adding more faces to the series’ already large roster.
Captain Tsubasa 2: World Fighters will include more than 110 playable characters and 22 national teams, including Japan, Brazil, Argentina, the Netherlands, and Mexico.
Customization and In-Game Shop
The video also shows off customization features and the in-game shop. Players will be able to get gear tied to legendary national teams, giving them more ways to personalize their players and team identity.
That should add a bit more long-term progression outside of matches, especially for fans who want to build out their favorite lineup.
Launching August 28
Captain Tsubasa 2: World Fighters launches August 28 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam.
With its large roster, national teams, story content, and signature super-powered soccer, the sequel looks aimed at both longtime Captain Tsubasa fans and players who want an arcade-style soccer game with anime flair.
