Dangen Entertainment has announced I Shall Name The Dead, a new narrative adventure from Tiago Rech, the writer behind Teleforum, I Did Not Buy This Ticket and Drowned Lake. The game is planned for PC in early 2027.
The story follows Imaculada, a woman cursed by the Worm, a force slowly consuming her from within. After it takes one of her eyes, that dead eye gives her the ability to speak with the dead.
Naming the Forgotten
I Shall Name The Dead takes place around a cemetery in the Metropolis, where the Nameless Dead cannot be buried. Their identities have been erased, leaving their remains in limbo.
Imaculada travels to the Necropolis to speak with skulls, investigate their lives, and restore the names they lost. Each name brings the dead closer to peace, but the Worm keeps eating away at what remains of her.
A Surreal Horror Story Without Jump Scares
The game leans into magical realism and atmospheric horror rather than jump scares. Players will explore the cemetery, talk with its residents, study clues left by the dead, and name them so they can finally be cremated.
Dialogue also ties into the Worm. Players can burn matches to purify dialogue choices, or let the Worm get closer.
