Bandai Namco Entertainment America has announced that Once Upon A Katamari will launch for Nintendo Switch 2 on October 8, 2026. The release will arrive alongside the new Rolling Live Highlights DLC, which adds quests and music inspired by the mobile game Katamari Damacy Rolling Live.
Once Upon A Katamari is available now on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PC via Steam, and Nintendo Switch. The Rolling Live Highlights DLC will be sold separately across all platforms.
Rolling Live Highlights Adds New Quests
The Rolling Live Highlights DLC includes 10 quests and music from Katamari Damacy Rolling Live.
The DLC centers on live streaming, with players rolling alongside Earth’s streamers, meeting new cousins, and helping the King of All Cosmos chase popularity by growing bigger Katamari.
Switch 2 Version Adds Mouse Controls
The Nintendo Switch 2 version will include a free update with exclusive mouse controls.
Bandai Namco also confirmed a smoother framerate and upgraded graphics for the Switch 2 release. Existing Nintendo Switch players can transfer their save data to Nintendo Switch 2, as long as no save data already exists on the new system.
Rolling Through Time
Once Upon A Katamari sends The Prince across different eras to restore the stars. Players roll through areas inspired by the Jurassic Period, the Ice Age, historic Japan, and more.
The game also includes new music, customization options for The Prince and his cousins, power-ups like a magnet that pulls in nearby items, and Katamari Ball, a competitive multiplayer mode.
