Dreamsend: Wintersong has been revealed as a PC fantasy steampunk strategy RPG built around old-school tactical combat, a 16-chapter story, and a cast of 15 playable characters.
The indie RPG aims for tactical RPG nostalgia while adding its own systems, including character facets and quick abilities that can shift how each battle plays out.
A 16-Chapter Tactical RPG
Dreamsend: Wintersong follows its story through 16 chapters, with players taking command of 15 different playable characters.
The game will send players across an open map filled with story events, tactical encounters, and multiphase boss battles. Each fight appears built around planning, positioning, and adapting as enemy patterns change.
Facets Shape Each Character
Each playable character has three facets. These special perks evolve over time, giving each party member new ways to grow.
As facets evolve, they can alter playstyles in larger ways, letting players shape how each character fits into the squad.
Quick Abilities Add a Twist
Dreamsend: Wintersong includes passive, active, and quick abilities.
Quick abilities can be used without consuming a turn, giving players extra tactical options during combat. That should make timing and ability order matter, especially during harder fights and boss phases.
Dreamsend: Wintersong is in development for PC.
