Raw Power Games has released a new Chronicles: Medieval dev diary focused on the game’s army management and progression systems.
The medieval sandbox is set across the British Isles, France, and the Holy Roman Empire, where players build a character, recruit soldiers, train troops, form alliances, and grow a reputation over time.
Build an Army From the Ground Up
The new dev diary features Community Developer Eric “Happybara” Blackshaw and Senior Game Designer Nikki Kuppens breaking down how players command and grow their forces.
The video shows troop types, army composition, and how soldiers can move from early-game recruits into higher-tier units as the campaign progresses.
Recruitment, Training, and Upgrades
Chronicles: Medieval will let players recruit, train, and upgrade soldiers while shaping their army around the situation ahead.
Raw Power Games also released a blog post explaining how the team tied troop types, recruitment, and progression to the military history of the Hundred Years’ War. The post also includes concept art and a closer look at UI mechanics.
A Medieval Sandbox Built for Player Choice
Chronicles: Medieval uses Unreal Engine 5 and Raw Power Games’ Asgard technology.
The game aims to give players a reactive medieval setting where choices affect reputation, alliances, and the path their character takes.
Early Access Planned for 2027
Raw Power Games says Chronicles: Medieval is scheduled to launch in Steam Early Access in early 2027.
The team says the timing gives it more room to match the scale and quality it wants before players get their first hands-on look.
