Ghost of Yotei Complete Edition launches October 1 on PlayStation 5, adding a new narrative expansion, a single-player survival mode, quality-of-life updates, cosmetics, trophies, and more.
The release coincides with the game’s one-year anniversary and offers current players a paid upgrade path, while newcomers can pick up the full package.
Echoes of Sekigahara Adds a New Story
Ghost of Yotei: Echoes of Sekigahara is the new narrative expansion.
The story splits time between Atsu’s present in Ezo and flashbacks to her time on the mainland. Players will meet Nagato, a figure from Atsu’s past who arrives in Ezo, and explore a previously unseen valley once held by The Snake and his Vipers.
The expansion will also show Atsu during the Battle of Sekigahara and introduce new enemies, heavy weapons, armor sets, dyes, and more.
Most Wanted Adds Survival Runs
Ghost of Yotei: Most Wanted is a new single-player combat survival mode with a roguelike structure.
Players accept bounties to start runs, then earn perks by taking down enemies. The mode also lets players unlock extra characters, with Atsu using dual katanas, Oyuki using the kusarigama, and Nagato fighting with a yari.
Complete Edition and Upgrade Pricing
Ghost of Yotei Complete Edition will cost $69.99 and includes the main game, Ghost of Yotei Legends, Echoes of Sekigahara, Most Wanted, Digital Deluxe Edition content, and the Charm of Hokkyokusei.
Players who buy by September 30 will also receive an early unlock of the Sakai Armor for Atsu on October 1.
Current Ghost of Yotei owners can buy the Complete Edition Upgrade for $14.99 to get Echoes of Sekigahara and Most Wanted. Players who do not already own the Digital Deluxe Edition content and Charm of Hokkyokusei will receive those upon pre-ordering the upgrade.
Free Update Arrives October 1
A free patch will also arrive October 1 for all Ghost of Yotei owners.
The update adds Beauty of Yotei, a screensaver-style mode focused on Ezo’s environments. It also adds the option to keep one armor set’s appearance while using another set’s stats, plus a high-contrast accessibility option.
Ghost of Yotei Complete Edition also adds new Watanabe Mode tracks, photo mode stamps, New Game+ cosmetics, and trophies for Echoes of Sekigahara and Most Wanted.
