Konami has announced Rhapsody in Scarlet, an original action-adventure game set in 1920s New York.
The game is coming to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam, with a release date still to be announced.
Magick Meets the Jazz Age
Rhapsody in Scarlet stars Ellie Myers, a young magus and aspiring jazz singer who arrives in New York chasing her dream.
That dream gets messy fast when Ellie becomes tied to a hidden conflict between magick users and a mysterious mafia organization threatening the city.
Ellie and Ilya
The story brings Ellie together with Ilya Jones, a gifted magus connected to an elite group known as the Seekers.
As the two clash with the mafia organization, their bond grows while the danger around New York builds.
Ellie Myers is voiced by Cherami Leigh, while Ilya Jones is voiced by Hannah Grace.
Combat Built Around Beasts and Magick
Combat in Rhapsody in Scarlet centers on combining magick with mystical beast abilities.
Players can chain close-range attacks, long-range strikes, and area-of-effect moves while switching between beasts to match the fight in front of them.
Jazz-Inspired New York
Konami says the game recreates the culture and atmosphere of 1920s New York through its architecture, cars, fashion, nightlife, and music.
A Konami Press Start segment also includes comments from the production team and a theme song video for “Cool/Hot,” performed by Soil & “Pimp” Sessions with singer-songwriter Emi Meyer.
