Koei Tecmo and Gust have announced that Atelier Karia: The Night Kingdom & the Guide of Memories will launch on February 25, 2027.
The latest Atelier game is coming to Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, Windows PC via Steam, and Xbox Series X|S.
Karia Heads Into Aladiss
Atelier Karia follows Karia, an amnesiac alchemist, as she travels across the continent of Aladiss with Servio Lektor, Fina Rozen, and fellow alchemist Yumia Liessfeldt.
The cast also includes Noelk Schreiber, an inspector from the Eustellan Bureau of Alchemical Relic Control, and Celes, a calm-looking woman with an odd side.
Together, the group explores Aladiss’ underworld while chasing the truth behind its secrets.
Style Changes Add New Combat Options
Karia can use style changes to gain new powers, shift her appearance, and alter her fighting style.
Over eight styles will be available, including Ignis and Mermaid. Ignis Style boosts attack and adds fire damage while lowering defense and making Karia weaker to ice. Mermaid Style raises magic damage with ice magic, but lowers physical attack and makes her weaker to fire.
Styles can also help during exploration, such as breaking obstacles while dashing or walking on water.
Field Actions Expand Exploration
Interactive Field Actions let Karia use items to affect the environment.
She can throw items to gather ingredients, destroy obstacles from a distance, and damage enemies. Elemental items such as Flamme, Lehrune, Plajig, and Luft can activate gimmicks tied to fire, ice, electric, and air elements.
Elemental Alteration can also change the ingredients gathered from certain spots based on the item used.
Colossal Battles Split the Party
Atelier Karia will feature colossal enemies that require players to manage Frontline Team and Assault Team phases.
The Frontline Team takes on enemies directly, while the Assault Team uses structures around the map. Completing objectives can lower the enemy’s morale gauge, while secondary objectives can activate shelters, sonic cannons, and item launchers.
Synthesis Gets Reworked
Alchemy remains central to Atelier Karia, with a renovated synthesis system built around the cauldron in the depths of Aladiss.
Players connect mana pieces across a recipe map to form patterns and trigger effects. Ingredient choices and piece placement can change the final result, and certain conditions can even turn a recipe into a different item.
Pre-Orders Are Open
Players who pre-order the standard edition will receive the early purchase bonus Noctrem Pioneering Preparation Set, which includes a Karia costume and Training Badge equipment.
A physical Premium Box is also available for pre-order through the NIS America store. It includes the base game, artbook, CD with extra tracks, nine A4-size posters, and costume DLC.
