Warhammer 40,000: Darktide Depths of the Damned Update Arrives September 29

Fatshark has announced Warhammer 40,000: Darktide – Depths of the Damned, a free update launching September 29 with a new mission, weapons, boss encounter, live event, and quality-of-life changes.

The update sends Strike Teams deeper into Tertium with Spillway, a mission set within territory controlled by the Water Cartel.

Enter the Spillway

Spillway takes players into a maze of tunnels, waterways, and forgotten passages beneath the Hive.

The mission features branching routes, with some paths carrying greater risks than others. Regardless of the route players choose, each eventually leads toward the Prophet of Decay.

Fatshark has released a new trailer showing the mission in action.

Face the Prophet of Decay

The Prophet of Decay is a powerful Psyker waiting deep within the Hive.

Fatshark is keeping many details about the boss under wraps for now, but says the Prophet is no ordinary spawn of Chaos. More information about the encounter will arrive in the weeks ahead.

Darktide Expands Its Arsenal

Depths of the Damned also adds several weapon marks and weapon families across Darktide’s classes.

New additions include the Crusher Krourk MK VII, Double-Barrelled Shotgun Krouk Mk IV, Gromm Mk I Battle Maul, Mk V Slab Shield, Ogryn Cruncher, Huntsman’s Shotgun, and Ogryn Thugshot.

Fatshark plans to share a deeper weapon breakdown in an upcoming Feature Highlight.

More Content Arrives With the Update

Alongside Spillway and the expanded weapon selection, Depths of the Damned will introduce a new live event and store rotation.

The update will also include quality-of-life improvements, with more details expected closer to release.

Warhammer 40,000: Darktide – Depths of the Damned launches September 29 as a free update on Steam, PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.
