Koei Tecmo and Team Ninja have announced that Wo Long 2: Wings of Ember launches March 4, 2027.
The action RPG is coming to Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch 2, Xbox on PC, and Steam, with day-one Xbox Game Pass availability. A limited-time Alpha Demo is also available now on select platforms.
The Story Moves to 208 AD
Wo Long 2: Wings of Ember takes place after Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty.
The protagonist and Pang Tong watch their village get destroyed as Cao Cao’s forces advance toward Jing Province. From there, the protagonist joins Liu Bei against Cao Cao before heading to Jiangdong, where Sun Quan and Pang Tong become part of the fight leading toward the Battle of Red Cliffs.
Insight Skills Expand Combat
The sequel keeps the fast combat of the first game while adding new actions.
Insight Skills let players evade attacks, use terrain for counterattacks, and shift momentum when surrounded. Combat can also move into the air, giving players added options for attacking enemies from above.
Open Fields Recreate Major Battles
Wo Long 2 will feature larger open fields based on major Three Kingdoms conflicts, including the Battle of Changban and the Battle of Red Cliffs.
Players can move through mountain fortresses, valleys, and enemy strongholds while building morale and finding ways to weaken opposing forces.
Players can also recruit enemy officers, reducing the strength of rival armies and opening more strategic options during battles.
Alpha Demo Available Now
The Wo Long 2: Wings of Ember Alpha Demo is available now through September 30, 2026, on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, Xbox on PC, and Steam.
The demo includes an in-progress character creator, online multiplayer for up to three players, and the Changban open field.
Players can fight alongside Liu Bei’s army against Cao Cao’s pursuing forces and face demons inspired by Chinese legends.
Finishing the demo rewards the Fledgling Phoenix Helmet for use in the full game.
Digital Deluxe Edition Details
The Digital Deluxe Edition includes the base game, Season Pass, and the Creator God Armor Set as a Season Pass bonus.
It also includes a digital artbook, digital mini soundtrack, and Shitieshou Hat.
Physical editions are also available to pre-order.
