1999Tokoyo Building has released a Steam demo ahead of its November 9, 2026, PC launch. Published by Kodansha Game Lab, the horror point-and-click adventure puts you in a run-down indoor amusement park where investigating your coworkers could keep you alive—or get you killed.
The demo covers the first chapter and offers about two hours of content. It will also appear in this month’s Steam Next Fest.
Break Into Private Rooms Without Getting Caught
Set in 1999, the game follows Akira as he searches for the secrets his coworkers are hiding.
You’ll break into their private rooms and gather information to survive encounters with them. Getting caught is dangerous, and even slightly upsetting them can lead to game over.
A Debut From a Three-Person Japanese Studio
1999Tokoyo Building is the first game from Tokoyo Estate Co., Ltd, a three-person development team based in Japan.
Its music comes from Yasuhiro Nakashima, who previously composed the soundtrack for and Roger, another visual novel published by Kodansha Game Lab.
The demo is the second of four Kodansha Game Lab demos releasing this week, following Buzz or Die.
