Killing Things With Your Friends has released an expanded Steam demo for October’s Steam Next Fest, running October 19–26. Developer Flightless and publisher Vendetta’s co-op survival game sends up to four players through laboratory trials where detachable limbs serve as tools, weapons, and replacement parts.
The announcement jokingly calls the game Kissing Things With Your Friends, framing its bloody experiments as wholesome bonding.
Swap Limbs to Survive Exogen’s Experiments
You play as altered Test Subjects trapped inside Exogen labs, where puzzles, hazards, and mutant creatures fill a series of challenge rooms.
Your unusual biology lets you remove and exchange body parts. A companion’s discarded appendage can become your next weapon or replace one of your own limbs, making dismemberment part of both combat and problem-solving.
The trials emphasize communication and coordination, though you can also attempt them alone.
Earn Upgrades Across Procedurally Generated Trials
Completing smaller challenges earns gold you can spend on limbs, modifiers, and other upgrades. Buffs and cosmetic equipment provide further ways to customize your Test Subject.
Procedurally generated trials draw from dozens of challenge rooms, changing the obstacle sequence each run. Multiplayer supports public and private lobbies for groups of up to four.
Killing Things With Your Friends launches in 2027.
