EA has released 25 classic PC games on Steam, led by seven Anniversary Editions covering Road Rash and six games from the Wing Commander franchise. The remaining 18 titles debut on Steam, including Theme Hospital, both Crusader games, and a selection of Ultima RPGs.
The Anniversary Editions cost $9.99 each, while the other releases cost $4.99 each. The collection is available across Steam, GOG, and the EA App, with promotional pricing on Steam and GOG from November 5–19.
Seven Anniversary Editions Restore Cinematics and Update Controls
EA says the Anniversary Editions retain the games’ original presentation while adding support for modern systems, updated controls, performance improvements, and other quality-of-life changes.
The restoration began after the team located a physical media vault containing thousands of tapes and other assets. Digitizing that material recovered master full-motion video footage previously thought lost. EA re-edited more than 1,500 cinematic scenes across the seven games.
The Anniversary Editions are:
- Road Rash: 30th Anniversary Edition
- Wing Commander: 35th Anniversary Edition
- Wing Commander II: Vengeance of the Kilrathi: 35th Anniversary Edition
- Wing Commander III: Heart of the Tiger: 30th Anniversary Edition
- Wing Commander IV: The Price of Freedom: 30th Anniversary Edition
- Wing Commander Prophecy: 30th Anniversary Edition
- Privateer 2: The Darkening: 30th Anniversary Edition
Existing Wing Commander Owners Receive Free Upgrades
The Wing Commander restorations incorporate community-created mods through collaboration with their creators.
If you already own digital copies of the corresponding titles through GOG or the EA App, you’ll automatically receive the Anniversary Edition upgrades on that platform at no extra charge.
