Godzilla: Destroy All Monsters Melee Remastered Supports Four-Player Private Lobbies

Godzilla: Destroy All Monsters Melee Remastered supports online private lobbies for up to four players, expanding beyond the two-player online matches announced before release. The confirmation follows the remaster’s launch earlier this week, with Pipeworks adding the feature during the final stages of development.

According to the launch update, the team completed additional work and testing in the weeks before release to accommodate four players. The feature shipped with the game before a formal announcement, leaving some players to discover it on their own.

Four Players Can Join Private Online Matches

The announcement gives players a clearer picture of the remaster’s multiplayer options. Earlier messaging described online support for two players, but private lobbies can accommodate four.

That distinction matters when organizing a match with friends. If you planned around the previously announced two-player limit, you can now bring a larger group into a private session.

The confirmation specifically concerns private lobbies. It does not announce a change to public matchmaking, so players should keep that distinction in mind when choosing how to compete online.

Pipeworks’ late development work means the feature is already included in the released game. Players do not need to wait for a future content update to access the expanded lobby support.

Launch Update Reports Strong Steam Reception

The publisher also shared an early snapshot of the game’s Steam performance. According to the update, 94% of more than 900 player reviews were positive, with the store displaying an “Overwhelmingly Positive” rating.

Those figures reflect the launch-period snapshot provided in the announcement and can change as additional reviews arrive. The publisher also reported that the game held Steam’s number-one position for part of a day, though it did not identify the specific chart.

For players getting a group together, the practical news is the expanded private-match capacity. Godzilla: Destroy All Monsters Melee Remastered is available now, with four-player private online lobbies supported at launch.
