Here’s our first look at MAG, the Massive Action Game made by Zipper Interactive. The MAG Senior Producer, Rade Stojsavljevic is here to talk to us about it a bit.
Zipper Interactive doesn’t make junk, they introduced the world to SOCOM and will do so again with the 256-online multiplayer game MAG, which in its core is an an action shooter. Drive vehicles, shoot enemies and do online things in 8-players squads.
Well, it may be massive but it is an action shooter at its core. You can run around and shoot enemies, throw grenades, and drive vehicles just like any other shooter except with MAG you’ll do it with up to 256 players. The team at Zipper was one of the pioneers of online gaming on consoles with the SOCOM franchise and they’ve used this knowledge to create a brand new server architecture to make an original game like MAG possible.

This game is scheduled for 2009 now, what about the Spring 2009 thing? They’re really excited about this game as are we, so expect more from the PS BLOG soon!
