PS3 NewsWire – 23rd January

I’m totally baffled the whole tagged thing on Youtube. Ok someone tags you in their video, so why do you have to then make a video saying 5 facts about you? It makes no sense. I just needed to get that off my chest.

In the news today, Ubisoft expects a new console by 2012, confirmation from Ubisoft, New Metal Gear Online mode, DLC for lazy Skate 2 players and I Am Alive not coming sooner than we expected.

DLC for lazy Skate 2 players

A new pack called ‘Time is Money’ has been released on Xbox Live and the Playstation Network for 400 points or $5. The pack will allow you to unlock everything, all locations, skaters, everything. So you are paying to unlock stuff that is already in the game, something that would be a cheat code back in the day. Well that has me sold.

Ubisoft expects a new console by 2012

Ubisoft were commenting on how they have enough people to to grow as a company for the next few years and maybe even into the next console generation which they think will happen around 2011 – 2012.

Confirmation from Ubisoft

Remember Pachter predicted that Assassins Creed will come within the next fiscal year? Well he is correct, so either he predicted it well or he looked at Ubisoft’s Q3’08 earnings early. The report states that upcoming titles like Assassins Creed 2, Splinter Cell Convictions, Ghost Recon and 4 other unannounced franchises will come in this fiscal year. If so then Ubisoft will be having a good 2009.

I Am Alive, not coming as soon as we expected

Ubisoft have changed their mind and have said that the game won’t appear in this fiscal year but rather within the next one. They are doing this so they can perfect the game and not have it covered it bugs. Smart move.

New Metal Gear Online mode

A New Bomb mission been announced and will arrive on the 27th of January, and the best thing is that it’s free. In a nutshell, the defense team must defend the bomb and the offense team must try and detonate it.
