Sassy Chap Games and Team17 have announced a new release date for their title that allows you to, well, Date Everything!. Originally slated to release on Valentines Day, a game that sees you locked inside your home all alone, Date Everything! has the player slap on a pair of sunglasses and suddenly the objects in their home have sentience and are very horny.
A Valentine’s Day release would have been too perfect, but alas, that’s game dev, baby! Slap on your dateviators and make out with your couch. Date Everything! has a great vibe where inanimate objects in your home come to life with the sole purpose of being dateable. Based on the trailer, I think we’re looking at a fun-loving sentience rather than, well, the alternative, which is not so good. Conceptually, the idea of being stuck in your home with a ton of objects that are suddenly coming to life is deviously enjoyable to me. However, imagine how much more prescient this idea would be if it had been released earlier in the decade. Sassy Chap Games has also announced a pretty star-studded cast to the game but they’re not without their own stars on staff.
Sassy Chap Games
Sassy Chap Games was originally founded in 2018 by Ray Chase (Final Fantasy XV, Starfield), Robbie Daymond (Hi-Fi Rush, Persona 5 Royal), and Max Mittelman (Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, Persona 5 Tactica). Date Everything! is their first game, and since 2022, they’ve been working on Date Everything! full-time. Sassy Chap Games has managed to put together a pretty strong cast for Date Everything! Naturally, a couple of voice actors would want to create a game that gave voice to a hundred different objects in your home. Let’s look at the cast.
Date Everything! is Fully Voiced
I don’t know if you’ve taken a look around your home lately, but you’ve got some stuff. If every individual thing had a voice, a personality, it’d be a lot to keep up with. Date Everything! is boasting over 100 fully voiced characters to fall in love with. Of the 100 household items, Sassy Chap Games has attracted some pretty recognizable voice talent.
- Felicia Day (Stray Gods: The Roleplaying Musical, Guild Wars 2)
- Ben Starr (Final Fantasy 16, The First Berserker: Khazan)
- Matt Mercer (Critical Role)
- Laura Bailey (Spider-Man 2, NieR)
- Neil Newbon (Baldur’s Gate III, Detroit: Become Human)
- Troy Baker (Indiana Jones and The Great Circle, Final Fantasy XIII)
- Ashly Burch (Horizon Zero Dawn, Life is Strange)
I hope they’ve got a few more names up their sleeves because between the names they’re dropping and the studio heads, that’s 10 people for over 100 fully voiced characters. Maybe it’s just the decades of covering games, but those people are all household names to me. The cast leads me to believe that at the very least the voice work will be stellar. Let’s see what we’ll be doing in Date Everything!
Date Everything! Key Features
- 100 fully voiced datable characters for players to fall madly in love with.
- Branching dialogue that leads to multiple endings for each character.
- Over 4 hours of music with each dateable character featuring their own theme.
- 11,000+ hand-drawn images.
- 1.2 million words and 70,000 voicelines.
- A fully interactive 3d overworld that changes based on choices made in the playthrough.
I think initially Date Everything! might have been written off as your run-of-the-mill dating simulator with some powerful voice talent attached to it. But seeing the work put into it and the numbers they’re boasting, the game is looking more impressive. Keeping in mind, of course, these stats essentially mean nothing unless they find an audience and the words are good. Still, I have hope for the game because I enjoy the idea of dating things in my home. Date Everything! is non-standard, new, novel, not something we’ve seen much of before. I wish the team over at Sassy Chap Games the best of luck.
Date Everything! is now slated to release on June 17th, 2025, for PC via Steam, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch. Team17 is planning on a physical version release in 2025, so if that’s your thing, it’s looking like it’ll happen this year. We’ll do our best to bring you more Date Everything! news, so keep an eye on our front page.
