FromSoftware and Bandai Namco have revealed the first four playable characters—known as Nightfarers—in the upcoming standalone action survival title Elden Ring: Nightreign, which launches May 30 for PC and consoles.
A co-op PvE experience built around survival, strategy, and brutal boss fights, Nightreign tasks players with enduring a deadly three-day-and-night cycle in squads of three or alone. To survive, players must choose from eight distinct Nightfarers, each with unique skills and playstyles. Now, we’ve been introduced to the first half of the cast.
Meet the First Four Nightfarers
- Recluse
A master of ancient arcane power, the Recluse wields blood magic and elemental force to punish those who dwell in the shadows. - Ironeye
Deadly at range and calm under pressure, Ironeye’s arrows cut through the darkness with precision. - Raider
A fearless frontline fighter, the Raider thrives in chaos, cutting through foes with raw strength and unshakable resolve. - Duchess
Swift and stealthy, the Duchess dispatches enemies in an instant, her blade striking unseen like a shadow in the night.
Survive the Cycle, Face the Nightlords
Elden Ring: Nightreign introduces a new gameplay loop to the universe. Players must explore a dynamic map filled with evolving biomes, dangerous enemies, and ever-shifting loot while preparing for a brutal boss fight at the end of each day. Survive long enough, and you’ll face off against a Nightlord on the third and final day.
Each defeat still pushes progress forward, with relics earned from failed runs that can be used to unlock new upgrades and tailor each Nightfarer to your preferred combat style.
Elden Ring: Nightreign launches May 30 for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. The official website has pre-orders and more information.
