KillaSoft’s debut title dives headfirst into mystery, bullets, and betrayal with a stylish detective story coming to PC and consoles.
Colombian indie studio KillaSoft made a dramatic entrance at this week’s Xbox Showcase with the reveal of The Shadow Syndicate, a third-person stealth-action adventure drenched in noir style. Set in 1933 Brooklyn, the game stars private detective Sam Marlowe, whose investigation into his mentor’s disappearance unravels a city-spanning conspiracy.
Inspired by the look and grit of classic noir and comic series like Blacksad, The Shadow Syndicate blends fast-paced, tactical action with rich storytelling and clue-driven investigations. It’s a cinematic love letter to shadowy alleyways, trench coats, and unsolved mysteries.
What to Expect from The Shadow Syndicate:
- Detective Drama – Take on the role of Sam Marlowe, an old-school private eye drawn into a high-stakes conspiracy involving a secret organization manipulating Brooklyn from the shadows.
- Stylized Combat – Use Sam’s time-slowing ability in tense gunfights to pull off precision takedowns, outmaneuver enemies, and chain together stylish attacks.
- Investigation Mechanics – Talk to locals, gather clues, and use an in-game journal that dynamically updates with evidence and dialogue options to crack the case wide open.
- A True Noir Vibe – Think smoke-filled bars, shadow-drenched streets, and rain-slicked mystery. KillaSoft leans heavily into comic book-style visuals and moody 1930s aesthetics to create a world that oozes atmosphere.
Joining Sam on his journey is Elo, the mayor’s headstrong daughter, whose unlikely partnership with the cynical detective adds tension, charm, and personal stakes to the twisting narrative. As they untangle the Syndicate’s grip on the city, players will have to think fast, move quietly, and shoot straight to survive what’s coming.
KillaSoft has yet to announce a release date, but The Shadow Syndicate is confirmed for PC and consoles, with more platform details coming soon.
