Toplitz Productions dropped a brand-new trailer for its upcoming survival title Permafrost during the OTK Games Expo, offering a deeper glimpse into its frozen post-apocalyptic setting—and it’s as chilling as you’d hope.
Set in a world left in ruins after the catastrophic shattering of the moon, Permafrost paints a bleak picture of a planet plunged into an eternal deep freeze. Civilization has collapsed, the remnants of humanity are scattered and desperate, and the cold is as much an enemy as the people trying to outlive it.
The trailer introduces players to the core pillars of Permafrost’s survival experience: harsh weather systems, crumbling cityscapes, and fractured factions vying for control. It’s not just about battling the cold—it’s about navigating the politics and desperation of a world trying to claw its way back from the edge. You’ll also be joined by a loyal canine companion, helping you track through snow-covered ruins and stay grounded in the humanity that’s slipping away.
Alongside its single-player campaign, Permafrost will feature online co-op for up to four players, letting survivors band together to scavenge, build, and brave the elements in tandem. The game’s grounded tone and gritty visual aesthetic aim to deliver an immersive survival experience that leans heavily into storytelling, atmosphere, and choices that matter.
Trailer Highlights:
- Frozen Wasteland – A wide-open world shaped by collapse and buried under snow.
- Human Stories – Emotionally driven encounters with fellow survivors in a world where trust is rare.
- Faction Dynamics – Align or clash with rival groups to shape the future of what’s left.
- Survival Mechanics – Manage resources, shelter, and warmth to make it another day.
- Canine Companion – You’re not alone; your four-legged friend has your back.
- Multiplayer Support – Team up with up to three friends in online co-op.
Permafrost is targeting a 2025 launch in Early Access on Steam, with both solo and cooperative modes available at launch.
