Skeleton Crew Studio and Devolver Digital are back with a frosty new reveal for their upcoming tactical kung fu action game Forestrike. A brand-new trailer has been unveiled for the Cold Eye School—a brutal combat path centered on enduring pain and retaliating with overwhelming force. Even better, players can now try it firsthand in the updated Steam demo.
Cold Eye: Endure and Retaliate
The Cold Eye School is the second of five combat schools in Forestrike, founded by the battle-scarred Master Nodai. This discipline teaches players to absorb incoming damage through blocking or sacrificing health, only to unleash devastating counterattacks once an opening is found. It’s a playstyle designed to test your resolve—and reward your patience.
Nodai’s philosophy is rooted in his own trauma. A veteran of the military elite, he believes the Order has grown weak and must embrace a more ruthless path to reclaim its former strength. As players walk his path, they’ll unlock new Cold Eye abilities that focus on resource control, punishment, and precision retaliation.
Tactical Kung Fu With a Twist
Forestrike puts a strategic spin on action combat. Players mentally run through battles before committing to them, testing strategies as many times as needed in a pre-fight meditation phase. But once a real fight begins, there’s no second chance—you get one shot to win.
Originally revealed with the agile Leaf School, Forestrike’s updated demo now allows players to choose between the evasive style of Master Talgun’s Leaf School and the brutal, armor-breaking techniques of Cold Eye.

A Stylish Successor to Olija
Developed by Skeleton Crew, the team behind 2021’s critically acclaimed Olija, Forestrike continues the studio’s trend of visually distinct, mechanically tight action games rooted in fantasy lore. The game’s painterly art direction, layered world-building, and creative combat systems make it one of Devolver Digital’s most intriguing upcoming releases.
