Not only did attendees get hands-on time with a demo featuring new talking weapons and over-the-top alien action, but the studio also revealed the release date. Valentine’s Day Eve, Friday the 13th
That date wasn’t chosen at random. Squanch Games leaned into the chaos, pointing out that February 13 is both Friday the 13th and the eve of Valentine’s Day. Whether you’re teaming up with a sweetheart or blasting aliens solo in your empty apartment, the studio promises the sequel will deliver laughs, absurdity, and mayhem in equal measure.
Platforms and Game Pass Support
When launch day arrives, High On Life 2 will be available on Xbox Series X|S, PC via Xbox, Steam, and Epic Games Store, as well as PlayStation 5. Just like the original, the game will also be available day one with Xbox Game Pass, ensuring no fan is left behind.
New Story, Same Squanch Energy
Set five years after the events of the original game, High On Life 2 finds the player character basking in fame after saving humanity from becoming a galactic drug. But trouble follows fast: a new bounty appears on the network, targeting your sister Lizzie. Once a freedom fighter or terrorist, depending on who you ask, Lizzie’s actions put you in the crosshairs as the galaxy’s next big villain.
This twisted premise sets the stage for more bizarre adventures filled with the series’ trademark mix of satire, absurd humor, and alien-splattering gunplay.
Meet the Guns
Of course, High On Life 2 wouldn’t be complete without its cast of wisecracking, talking weapons. Fan favorites return, including Knifey (Michael Cusack), Sweezy (Betsy Sodaro), and Gus (JB Smoove). Joining them is Sheath, a brand-new blade voiced by Ralph Ineson, who made his debut during Gamescom.
