Edmonton-based indie studio ThirtyThree Games, creators of ATOMIK: RunGunJumpGun, has officially unveiled Rebounder, a stylish new precision platformer revealed during today’s Awesome Indies showcase at Gamescom 2025. With a striking four-ink pulp sci-fi aesthetic inspired by retro zines and comics, Rebounder challenges players to grab, throw, and bounce their way through a series of dangerous off-world worksites.
Gamescom attendees can get their hands on the very first public demo with the full game slated to release on PC via Steam.
Grab, Throw, Bounce
Players step into the role of a weary worker on the edge, tethered to their job at an alien construction site. Armed with explosive spores, tools of the trade, they’ll fling themselves into the air, rebounding between obstacles and hazards in environments full of sliding elevators, cannonball launchers, hallucinogenic milk, and razor-sharp thorns.
Stages are designed for fast retries and speedrunning, offering hidden challenges, secrets, and a high skill ceiling for players looking to master every trick shot and route.
Pulp-Print Aesthetic
Rebounder stands out with its sci-fi retro comic-book style, complete with misregistration effects, Ben-Day Dots, and simulated print errors that bring its pulp-inspired world to life. The distinctive visual direction is paired with a distorted, otherworldly soundtrack, full of layered textures and easter eggs for players paying close attention.
“It’s so much fun working on a precision platformer; I constantly get sidetracked just playing through it while working on it,” said Logan Gimour, co-founder of ThirtyThree Games. “We’re really excited to start showing it to people and to get their reactions, as Rebounder’s aesthetic and mechanics are different than most games currently on the market.”
