Metronomik is celebrating the fifth anniversary of No Straight Roads with the reveal of a brand-new character for its sequel, NSR2. The latest announcement introduces Casey, the youngest member of Bunk Bed Junction and the band’s new keyboardist, who brings her own fresh perspective and playstyle to the stage.
Casey’s design reflects her identity and growth, blending influences through her accessories and patchwork fashion. As Creative Director Daim Dziauddin explains, “Her story lets us explore the band from a newcomer’s perspective, while making her a keyboardist shows the band’s desire to grow. They are rock at heart, but like many artists, they want to expand their style and explore new techniques.”
Casey’s Role in NSR2
In No Straight Roads 2, Casey adds unique moves and combos to the gameplay experience, complementing Mayday and Zuke as they embark on an epic world tour. Together, the band will explore diverse music-inspired worlds, battle a new wave of musical megastars, and climb the international charts in their fight for stardom.
Casey marks the third confirmed playable character, with a fourth and final band member still to be announced. Each member will bring distinct musical styles and combat systems to ensure players have a variety of ways to experience the rhythm-fueled action.
Celebrations at PAX West and Tokyo Game Show
Fans attending PAX West in Seattle can celebrate the reveal with a Casey-themed photo booth exhibition, offering fans the chance to snap pictures with the new bandmate. Looking ahead, Casey will be fully playable at Tokyo Game Show next month, giving players the first opportunity to test her style and combat abilities hands-on.
Looking Ahead to NSR2’s Release
Game Director and CEO Wan Hazmer emphasized how the reveal reflects the spirit of the series:
“Five years on, NSR still belongs to the fans. Casey opens new musical routes and new ways to play. We cannot wait for everyone to meet her.”
Executive Producer Idir Alexander Ould-Braham added:
“This anniversary announcement is a thank you to everyone who supported NSR from day one. NSR2 raises the bar for combat and personality, and showcasing Casey as the third main character is the perfect start.”
No Straight Roads 2 launches on PC and consoles in 2026, and fans can wishlist the game on Steam now.
