Immortal: Kungfu-Noir Prison Drama Reveals Demo and Kickstarter Date

Mishura Games has unveiled Immortal: And The Death That Follows, a striking new “kungfu-noir” prison drama planned for a 2027 release. The game blends character-action combat, dating sim elements, and platforming into a unique vision inspired by Buddhist myth, noir storytelling, and anime stylings — all while carrying the scars of its turbulent five-year development.

Players step into the role of Fudo, a prisoner trapped within Buddha’s prison. The journey sees him form alliances, build his own gang, and attempt the ultimate escape across 25 brutal cell blocks. Gameplay jumps between fast, combo-heavy combat inspired by Devil May Cry, high-stakes kill-or-be-killed sequences reminiscent of Hotline Miami, and precision platforming akin to Prince of Persia.

A Demo and Kickstarter Are Coming Soon

The first playable demo of Immortal will arrive on September 16, 2025, alongside the launch of a 30-day Kickstarter campaign. Mishura Games hopes to secure funding for the game’s full development, with an eye on a 2027 release. Fans can sign up now to be notified of the Kickstarter launch, and a teaser trailer has been released to give a first look at the game’s distinctive tone.

A Studio That Refuses to Break

Immortal’s story extends beyond its in-game world. Mishura Games endured years of litigation, professional setbacks, and personal tragedies before bringing the project to life. The team openly acknowledges their struggles, noting that while “some things should never happen in the game industry,” their commitment to art kept them moving forward.

“Your art is stronger than any circumstances,” the team says. “It is immortal.”
