After nearly three years in Early Access, Slime Rancher 2 has officially launched Version 1.0, titled “A Hero in Time.” The full release is now available digitally on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam and Epic Games Store. Developer Monomi Park has packed the launch with long-awaited features, including new story content, fresh gadgets, returning drones, and the climactic finale to Beatrix LeBeau’s adventure on Rainbow Island.
To celebrate, Slime Rancher 2 is available at a discounted rate for a limited time, and a new Ultimate Bundle is now available on Steam, which includes both games, their soundtracks (featuring the brand-new Volume 2), and additional goodies.
What’s New in Version 1.0
Version 1.0 adds the most feature-rich Slime Rancher 2 experience to date:
- The Return of Drones: Quantum Drones now let players automate their ranch or gather resources in the wider world.
- Endgame Content in the Grey Labyrinth: A new biome with puzzles, secrets, turbo taters, and speedy new Hyper Slimes.
- Expanded Gadgets & Rewards: Unlock the Night Market, prisma-powered kiosks, and new tools like the Harmonizer, Linked Cannon Variants, and Triple Hydro Turret.
- Dynamic Weather System: Rain, wind, thunderstorms, and environmental changes that affect both the world and its slimes.
Alongside new content, players can expect to uncover Rainbow Island’s ultimate mysteries in a dramatic finale that ties the story together.
Celebrations Beyond the Game
Monomi Park is taking Slime Rancher 2’s launch beyond digital platforms with themed real-world events:
- Boba Guys Collaboration (Sept. 26 – Oct. 12): A “Rainbow Island” drink, themed merch, and launch events at flagship California locations.
- The Art of Slime Rancher (Nov. 8–23): An exhibition at Gallery Nucleus in Alhambra, CA, with artwork, merch, and an opening reception featuring Slime Rancher developers and Final Fantasy artist Yusuke Naora.
A Cozy Milestone
“Slime Rancher 2 is like a rainbow-hued laser beam that fills your heart full of warmth, curiosity, and surprise,” said Nick Popovich, CEO of Monomi Park. The studio is also marking the franchise’s 10th anniversary with physical editions of Slime Rancher 2 from iam8bit, including an Exclusive Edition with collectible extras and Yusuke Naora’s new artwork, releasing January 14, 2026.
With nearly 2 million copies sold during Early Access and multiple industry awards already in its pocket, Slime Rancher 2’s 1.0 launch promises the most expansive ranching adventure yet.
