Monster Hunter Outlanders Trailer and TGS 2025 Demo Reveal First Closed Beta

Capcom and TiMi Studio Group unveiled a brand-new trailer for Monster Hunter Outlanders at Tokyo Game Show 2025, giving fans a deeper look at the mobile-exclusive entry in the long-running franchise. Alongside the trailer, the companies confirmed that attendees at both the Level Infinite and Capcom booths will be able to play the game for the first time.

The announcement also included details on the game’s first Closed Beta, which is set to begin in November 2025 for select regions. Players interested in participating can now register through the Monster Hunter Outlanders official website.

A New Island and a Familiar Hunt

The new trailer introduces an unknown island setting that blends fresh environments with the series’ iconic monster-hunting action. Hunters will wield familiar weapon types, now enhanced with new mechanics and elements designed specifically for mobile play.

TiMi Studio Group Producer Dong Huang said the demo and Closed Beta will give players a chance to experience many of the game’s unique features:

“With the first Closed Beta coming in November, we are currently working hard so that players can experience the game’s many appealing features. Please stay tuned for more details.”

Capcom Producer Genki Sunano added that the team is excited to see fans engage with the series in a new way:

“We’re thrilled for fans to jump in and experience the franchise in a new and exciting way.”

Key Features in Monster Hunter Outlanders

Monster Hunter Outlanders adapts the franchise for mobile with streamlined controls and new mechanics while keeping the spirit of the hunt intact. Some of the confirmed features include:

  • Streamlined Combat – Simple one-button commands keep action fast and accessible without sacrificing intensity.
  • Adventurers – Unique playable characters from across the world, each with their own skills and benefits.
  • New Buddies – Alongside the classic Palico, Outlanders introduces new companions, Rutaco and Trillan, who can be trained and customized.
  • Crafting & Exploration – The island of Aesoland is divided into regions with varying climates and terrains. Crafting expands exploration opportunities and reveals hidden items.
  • Radiant Species – Exclusive to Outlanders, these monsters are altered by the mineral Radiantite, giving them heightened aggression and new combat abilities.

Demo and Closed Beta

Fans attending TGS 2025 can get hands-on with Monster Hunter Outlanders at Capcom and Level Infinite’s booths. For those not in Tokyo, Closed Beta recruitment has already begun, with the test scheduled for November 2025 in select regions.
