Borealys Games has announced Lunchbreak Tactics, the first title under its new Borealys Lab publishing label. The quirky auto battler roguelite card game launches on Steam Early Access before the end of 2025, with a free demo available now. Players step into the shoes of a new superstore trainee whose coworkers have created a card game that quickly evolves into an obsession across the store.
Build the Perfect Squad
Each match begins with three key choices: one hero and two clans. Heroes grant unique passive abilities, while clans determine the units you’ll draft during the run. With over 100 units and dozens of heroes, the game offers countless synergies to experiment with. Players will battle across thirteen rounds, piecing together powerful squads and unlocking surprising strategies along the way.
Asynchronous Multiplayer on Your Own Schedule
One of the standout features of Lunchbreak Tactics is its asynchronous multiplayer, designed to let players jump in and out at their own pace. Without the stress of real-time timers, you can play a round during lunch, strategize between shifts, and continue climbing the ranks whenever it’s convenient.
Demo Available Now
A free demo is now live on Steam, giving players a chance to test out the game’s tactical depth before Early Access. “Our game is an homage to the auto battler genre, filled with endless possibilities and tactical depth. We can’t wait to see what wild strategies players come up with in our asynchronous multiplayer mode,” said Louis-Felix Cauchon, President of Borealys Games.
Lunchbreak Tactics is coming to Steam Early Access later this year, with the free demo available now.
