Square Enix has officially announced Dissidia Duellum Final Fantasy, a brand-new mobile installment in the iconic crossover series. Launching in 2026 for iOS and Android, this latest entry reimagines the franchise for mobile platforms with a new 3v3 team boss battle format, stylish cel-shaded visuals, and intuitive one-handed controls.
Fans eager to experience the action early can now register for the Closed Beta Test, available for Android devices from November 6–14, 2025 (PST) in eligible regions across the United States and Canada. Registration is open through October 28.
A New Era of Dissidia Battles
In Dissidia Duellum Final Fantasy, two teams of three warriors race to defeat colossal bosses while fending off roaming monsters. The gameplay blends team strategy, fast-paced action, and accessible mechanics, letting players control iconic Final Fantasy heroes with just one hand. The series’ hallmark spectacle returns with gorgeous cel-shaded graphics that bring the legendary cast to life in a whole new way.
The game’s story takes place in modern-day Tokyo, where a mysterious glowing crystal becomes part of daily life until a menacing energy corrupts it. As monsters descend upon the city, warriors from across the Final Fantasy series emerge to combat the spreading chaos. Known only as “Ghosts,” these mysterious fighters must uncover the truth behind the crystal and the dark power threatening humanity.
Cinematic Storytelling and Series Legacy
Dissidia Duellum Final Fantasy will feature a fully Japanese-voiced main story along with short episodic scenes offering a peek into the daily lives of its warriors. Each ability is accompanied by bespoke character artwork created by a lineup of renowned artists, continuing the series’ tradition of lavish presentation and rich world-building.
Closed Beta Test Details and Rewards
The Android Closed Beta Test will run daily from:
- Nov. 6–14, 2025 (PST): 7:00 p.m. – 12:59 a.m.
