Grasshopper Manufacture and legendary creator Goichi “Suda51” Suda are back with their first new IP in over five years, and they’re launching it early. Romeo Is A Dead Man, the studio’s latest bizarre, blood-soaked action game, is now set to arrive on February 11, 2026, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Steam.
In typical Suda51 fashion, the announcement comes with a wink and a jab at “a certain twice-delayed 2026 release,” as the studio bends the space-time continuum itself to beat the competition to launch day.
Grasshopper’s Multiversal Death Trip
Romeo Is A Dead Man introduces players to Romeo Stargazer, an FBI Space-Time special agent who survives death by donning the mysterious DeadGear mask. The transformation turns him into DeadMan, a liminal being stuck between life and death, perfect for hunting fugitives across the multiverse.
Armed with an over-the-top arsenal of guns, blades, and whatever else Suda51 dreams up, Romeo dives through shattered timelines to take down cosmic criminals while searching for his missing girlfriend, Juliet.
If that sounds wild, that’s because it is. Romeo Is A Dead Man promises a maximalist mix of:
- High-speed hack-and-slash combat
- Chaotic gunplay
- Mind-melting sci-fi storytelling
- Suda51’s trademark style, satire, and excess
“We’re Warping Space-Time”
In the game’s announcement, Suda confirmed the team never intended to release in May:
“We’re warping space-time to put the finishing touches to Romeo Is A Dead Man ahead of its launch next February.”
This marks a historic moment for Grasshopper Manufacture as well—their first-ever self-published game in the studio’s 25-year history.
Given Grasshopper’s legacy (killer7, Shadows of the Damned, No More Heroes), expectations for a stylish, surreal action experience are sky-high.
