D-topia Reveals New Gameplay Trailer at Wholesome Games Showcase, Coming in 2026

Annapurna Interactive and Marumittu Games unveiled a fresh look at D-topia, their upcoming puzzle-adventure set in a future where happiness is engineered by artificial intelligence. Revealed during today’s Wholesome Games showcase, the new gameplay trailer highlights the game’s quiet mystery, its logic-driven puzzles, and its AI-managed utopian community, which hides more than a few cracks beneath its polished surface.

A Calm, Thoughtful Adventure With a Curious Edge

In D-topia, players take on the role of a Facilitator, a resident maintenance worker responsible for keeping the community running smoothly. The Utopia Project D-topia’s AI-driven initiative to maximize human happiness relies on its Facilitators to keep everything perfectly functional… at least on the surface.

The new trailer shows off the game’s soothing atmosphere: gentle exploration, quirky residents, and clever mechanical puzzles that blend seamlessly into everyday tasks. But those tasks also hint at something more profound, a society so tightly managed by artificial intelligence that minor glitches may reveal uncomfortable truths.

Puzzles, People, and the Pursuit of Real Happiness

Your role as a Facilitator isn’t just about fixing leaks and repairing bots. D-topia encourages players to slow down, get to know the residents, and uncover their personal stories. Each one is navigating their own struggles within this so-called utopia, and player choices can nudge their futures toward unexpected outcomes.

The world is split between two planes: the bright public side, and the hidden Block Side, a liminal space where the system’s flaws, secrets, and suppressed data live. Moving between these layers becomes a key part of uncovering what’s truly driving The Utopia Project.
