Tokyo Scramble Brings Dinosaur Survival Horror to Nintendo Switch 2 This February

Revealed during today’s Nintendo Direct, Tokyo Scramble is a survival puzzle action game from developer Adglobe and publisher Binary Haze Interactive, launching exclusively on Nintendo Switch 2 on February 11, 2026. Now available for pre-order on the Nintendo eShop for $29.99, the game drops players into a terrifying underground version of Tokyo where clear thinking and split-second decisions are the only tools for survival.

Set deep below the surface of a ruined city, Tokyo Scramble pits players against Zinosaurs, dinosaur-like creatures that stalk the shadows and react to sound, movement, and panic. There are no guns or conventional weapons here; only observation, timing, and ingenuity stand between Anne and extinction.

Survival Without Weapons in a Collapsing Tokyo

Players take control of Anne, a lone survivor attempting to escape the subterranean depths of Tokyo using nothing but her wits and a multifunctional smartwatch. The device is the core of the game’s mechanics, allowing players to deploy various apps to distract enemies, manipulate the environment, and counter Zinosaurs at the right moment.

Every encounter is built around tension. Zinosaurs respond dynamically to Anne’s movements, forcing players to move carefully, manage noise, and stay aware of enemy sightlines. Even Anne’s heart rate becomes a factor, pushing players to remain calm under pressure as panic can lead to deadly mistakes.

Designed for Nintendo Switch 2 GameShare and GameChat

Tokyo Scramble is built from the ground up to take advantage of the Nintendo Switch 2’s GameShare and GameChat features, offering a flexible cooperative experience for up to four players using a single copy of the game. Through GameChat, additional players can watch the action unfold, offer real-time advice, or assist through shared controls to help Anne survive particularly dangerous situations.

Despite its cooperative focus, the entire experience is fully playable solo, maintaining its tension and pacing whether players face the underground alone or with friends guiding them from afar.

“We envisioned something very different for the Nintendo Switch 2,” said Makoto Yamamoto, Producer and Director of Tokyo Scramble. “Whether played alone or together, it is a journey through a Tokyo no one has ever seen before.”

A Multi-Genre Survival Experience

Tokyo Scramble blends stealth, strategy, and reactive action into a tightly wound survival experience. Players must carefully observe enemy behavior, plan escape routes, and time their smartwatch abilities precisely. While direct confrontation is rare, smart use of apps can turn the tables just long enough to slip past danger.

The game’s simple controls contrast with its depth of tension, creating an experience where survival feels earned rather than scripted. Every mistake carries weight, and every narrow escape reinforces the constant sense of dread.

Storytelling, Atmosphere, and Difficulty

Beyond its survival mechanics, Tokyo Scramble tells a coming-of-age drama through a series of text messages exchanged between four friends, slowly revealing their hopes, fears, and dreams amid the chaos. These moments of humanity provide emotional contrast to the relentless danger underground.

Each episode introduces distinct environments, new Zinosaurs with their own musical themes, and evolving challenges that push players to adapt. For those seeking different levels of intensity, Tokyo Scramble offers two difficulty settings: HOPE Mode, which emphasizes careful planning and situational judgment, and DESPAIR Mode, a punishing test of endurance where survival is never guaranteed.
