Konami has announced that Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 2 will launch on August 27, 2026, with pre-orders available now for both physical and digital editions. The collection was revealed during Sony’s State of Play and continues the preservation effort of Hideo Kojima’s legendary stealth-action saga on modern platforms.
The collection releases on Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam.
Metal Gear Solid 4 Finally Returns
Headlining this second volume is Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots, which makes its first port since its original 2008 PlayStation 3 release. The cinematic finale to Solid Snake’s story has long been one of the most requested entries to return to modern hardware, and Vol. 2 finally delivers that opportunity.
Joining it is Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker (HD Collection version), which continues Big Boss’s story and brings back its cooperative gameplay, including online functionality where supported. Together, these two titles push the overarching narrative of both Solid Snake and Big Boss forward, picking up where 2023’s Master Collection Vol. 1 concluded.
Bonus Content and Legacy Material Included
Beyond the two flagship titles, the collection includes Metal Gear: Ghost Babel as digital bonus content, alongside a wealth of archival materials. Players will receive screenplay books containing in-game text from Metal Gear Solid 4 and Peace Walker, master books detailing story and character lore, a Metal Gear Solid 4 Database, and Metal Gear Solid: Digital Soundtrack Vol. 2.
Pre-order bonuses include the “Cardboard Camouflage” uniform for Metal Gear Solid 4 and the “Love Cardboard” uniform for Peace Walker. Players with save data from Master Collection Vol. 1 will also unlock additional in-game bonus items in both titles.
Konami confirmed that Metal Gear Solid 4 and Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker will also be available as standalone digital purchases separate from the full collection.
Steam Bundle Now Available
To commemorate the announcement, Konami has also released a Steam-exclusive bundle that includes Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 1 and Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater, offering PC players a streamlined entry point into the franchise ahead of Vol. 2’s release.
